I’m Maties Palau, a Sound Designer with 5+ years of professional experience creating sound for film, branded content, immersive experiences and interactive environments.

My practice explores sound as a creative material, using it to shape narratives, atmospheres and sonic worlds. I am particularly interested in attentive listening, field recording and the relationship between sound, space and technology. Exploring how audio can influence perception and create meaningful experiences.

My background includes Film Sound (ESCAC, Barcelona) and an MA in Experimental Sound Practice from University College Cork, Ireland. This journey has shaped my approach to sound not only as a technical element, but as an expressive and spatial medium.

Alongside commissioned work, I develop personal sound projects exploring field recording, synthesis, experimental approaches and new ways of experiencing sound.

Based in Dublin, I am interested in collaborating with filmmakers, brands, artists and creative teams on projects where sound can become a central part of the experience.
